Descriptive reviews of Blood For Love by Chris M. Finkelstein:
"Imagine a world where love is a criminal offense. So very feared, that any sign of affection (infection as the NOV call it) meant the death penalty. With one exception, mothers of young children were given temporary exception. However, once the child was old enough detoxification had to occur, for both mother and child...I don t want to spoil anything for readers who haven't yet picked up this book but it looks like more is going to happen in this story. I can t wait. The author has done a very good job of creating a solid three dimensional world for the reader with characters that have depth. I had expected the book to end at the very climatic scene with Martha and her husband and then a second book starting afterwards so in that way the book almost seems like two books in one."

"Chris M. Finkelstein's Blood for Love is a thrilling exploration of love, cruelty, fascism, religion, escape, and torture. While these topics are both universal and highly relevant to the world in which we live, Finkelstein uses the backdrop of science fiction to explore these themes in a most engaging tale...Chris M. Finkelstein's Blood for Love is a must read for anyone who loves a thrilling fantasy with an ingenious storyline...this book features a riveting plot that will have you turning pages to the very end."

"A Very Creative Story, A Real Page-Turner, Well Worth the Read," April 2, 2011
This review is from: Blood For Love (Kindle Edition)
"A very unusual story, compelling. There's much to provoke thought, yet the action and story line are so intriguing, I read it fast; the author presents concepts that are alien or contrary to my own understanding, so I will return to it for a slower read. This is one creative writer who takes you on a rollercoaster of a ride. Although it's not filled with never-ending description, somehow the author is able to paint vistas in the mind.
The characterizations are solid and believable, with quite a bit of dialogue, which is important to me in a story that is so action-filled. The unusual setting (another planet), the intriguing humanoids, their ghastly take on love (and the rebels)... I can't help but think it'd make a great movie."

"Lovey-dovey... with GORE!" May 20, 2011
This review is from: Blood For Love (Kindle Edition)
Though I have a few dissagreements on the religous aspects of the book, it is overall a good read. It also possess some intresting insights on life and love. I sincerely hope that Mr. Finkelstein continues the series. Also, the Kindle version has some bonus content that introduces the human race into the story!

POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!
The people who inhabit this world seem to be sapient reptiles. The whole ecosystem is based on one plant as a source of oxygen, food, vitamins and energy. Otherwise it is eat or get eaten amongst the animals. Though the inhabitants have extensive knowledge on biology, microbiology, and other such "-ologys", they have no combustion engines or flight capabilities. This is mostly due to a religon that is explained in the book."
