A bar stool is an important furnishing item for your home. So, you should always give a special attention to its cleaning and maintenance. Many people think that its maintenance is not necessary but you should maintain it properly so that your home’s decoration could be always be ultimate, perfect and give your guests pleasant feelings. It is recommended by experts that you must perform a thorough inspection of each stool you are using at least once in a month.

 

While inspecting bar stools, you should carefully check for loose joints. If you find anytime a bar stool with loose joints, you should remove that particular bar stools instantly. A single loose joint can place extra pressures on the other joints and the bar stools may be collapsed. You should also use a furniture polish that is specifically designed for bar stools. You should not use water or any kind of water based cleaning solutions under any circumstances. Cleaning any wood bar stool with water as well as water based cleaning solution will result in the grain and finish the color and design of the bar stools which will look very bad.

 

You should take some precautions while cleaning and caring for your bar stools on a daily basis. You should clean up spills immediately as it looks dirty. After cleaning up, you should also wipe out even they are water proof. Remove stains if you found by using various kinds of cleaners that are easily available in the market. During maintenance, the bar stools should not be dropped for any reason from the floor from any heights. If they are dropped from a certain height, it will result in the finish chipping and possibly breaking. You should also apply fresh varnish after few years as you may notice the varnish or lacquer starting to fade.

 

You should also use a dust cover to prevent your bar stools from dust which will keep the stools’ wood and varnish in the great condition. In addition to the seat, support beams and dust the legs especially in crevices where dust can gather. You should rub wood oil into bar stools if they are varnished to maintain the natural moisture and reduce the chances of splintering and fading. When your see that your stools start to feel rough and dry to touch, you should rub oil into them. Moreover, you should avoid keeping solvents near the stools. These solvents include paint remover, nail polish remover or alcohol which can damage the wood.
