Summer is always a fun season for every teenager. It’s the time to hit the beach; get a tan and go surfing; or even spend sleepovers at a friend’s house. Enterprising teens can either get a part-time job or start a mini business. Summer gives teenagers a good reason to spend quality time with friends and loved ones and take a breather from all the hectic school work. There are many ways to enjoy the summer season, whether at home, on the beach, on a hike, or even travel abroad. Whatever you plan to do, summer is best spent when it doesn’t leave a huge dent in your wallet. Spending your vacation at a resort can be expensive, especially if you’re planning to stay there for more than a few days. Going to the beach, on the other hand, can prove a bit challenging if you live far from the sea, which means that you would have to fly all the way to the nearest coast or make your way there by land. If you’re not sold on the idea of going to the beach or booking a stay at a spa resort, then it’s time to be more creative. Here are some alternative ways to spend your summer vacation. Think What You Want to Do The secret to having fun during summer is knowing what you like doing best. If you prefer staying indoors, then you can play some board games or catch up on your reading of must-read books. If you’re the adventurous and social butterfly type, try going to some of the summer events Denver residents eagerly anticipate, such as art shows, concerts and various themed festivals. Visit Your Parents For college teenagers, nothing is sweeter than independence. However, it’s always good to touch base and spend quality time with your parents every once in a while. You can also ask them to come with you to the different summer events Denver City is known for. Read the City’s Tourism Page One good way to catch the summer events Denver residents enjoy is to browse your local tourism website. Most cities host free community events to entertain tourists. Watch out for exciting upcoming rock concerts, street parties and community fairs that are sure to leave you wanting for more.
