Importance of a White Card
Queensland is the second largest state in Australia. It occupies the north-eastern section of the mainland continent and is bordered by the Coral Sea and the Pacific Ocean. Queensland is often nicknamed the “Sunshine State”, since it enjoys warm weather and a portion of the state is in tropics. However, these workers must take up a legal requirement prior to commencing work on a construction site. This is currently known as the White Card. To get the white card, one must take up the White Card courses. These courses will train and assess how well a person knows the safety procedures required in construction areas. Under the Workplace Health and Safety Regulation 2008 of Queensland, any person undertaking construction work must successfully complete a general safety induction course recognized by Queensland law. Passing the required White Card courses is the only way a person can start to work in construction activities in Queensland. Following completion of the course, a general construction induction card or a Queensland white card is issued to the person who successfully completes training in the unit of competency. Any interested construction worker in and outside Queensland can get a White Card online. It only takes around 2 to 4 hours to finish the course. A computer, headset, and Internet access are all that you will need. You simply have to go online and click the site where instructions will be provided. These courses are very helpful in achieving full safety procedures, since in construction work, safety is the number one priority.
