Let's face it. Today's job market isn't what any of us would like it to be. Even people who have good educations are drawing unemployment, or are woefully under-employed, having to work low end jobs at fast food restaurants or convenience stores simply to pay enough of the bills to survive. Only those who have had the good fortune to have gotten a great education from the best schools are having consistent levels of success. And, we all know those keys to a great education comes from getting into those top flight schools. But unless we get into those schools, that level of education just isn't available. That's where finding the ways and means to get into those schools is vital.

There are a lot of things these schools look for, but none are quite as impactful as a truly great SAT score. While schools may want essays and scores from other groups, the Scholastic Aptitude Test remains the most definitive test available today. Without a great SAT score, top end schools won't even look at what else a student has to offer. This means we have to find the best ways to maximize our SAT score. And that means we have to have help from the best in the field to do so.

While there are those who state they are SAT experts, finding those who truly are outstanding in their field is a difficult prospect. There are lots of things to look for when it comes to finding an SAT expert, but here are some of the most important:

• Has truly awesome SAT scores of their own
• All aspects of their education are verifiable
• Has testimonials from successful students that are verifiable
• Has peer review that is verifiable
• Is available for assistance or consultation

The last one may be a bit of a stretch to expect, especially if they do have a really good study course available, but they should have competent staff available for reasonable hours to help with questions.

All in all, it comes down to whether the SAT expert can back up his offerings with truly productive study courses. While you can go to the local bookstore and find dozens of SAT prep books, finding a full course of study that includes test questions, a study strategy and a goal-oriented structure isn't usually found in a one-book course. In having to take a realistic look at things, we will realize that the better the course of study we have, the better our scores are going to be when it comes time to take the real test. Finding a true expert in the SAT field may not be easy, but in order for us to have the success out of life we want, putting forth the effort up front to find one is well worth it.
