Printing Solutions uses mostly soy or vegetable based inks instead of petroleum based and paper that is FS (Forestry Stewardship Council) certified, signifying responsible forestry of the wood that is turned into paper. Blanton is proud to say that Printing Solutions was the first printer in Arizona to be certified carbon neutral. “We do as much as we can to eliminate our carbon footprint,” he says. The company is certified by, and also purchases carbon offsets through EcoAid, a licensed carbon-trading firm. Funds from Printing Solutions’ carbon offset purchases go through the Chicago Climate Exchange, North America’s only legally binding and rules-based greenhouse gas emissions allowance trading system. Blanton is pleased to know where Printing Solutions’ funds have been allocated. “We support a farm that is self-contained and uses its own methane gas to power itself. So we know where our money’s going and what we’re doing to help,” he explains.
Printing Solutions has also embraced digital media, developing design services for electronic newsletters. “We’ll set it up in html so we can build it from scratch and customize it, with our ideas of how to put it together so that it gets noticed,” Blanton says of his innovative design team. Newsletter layouts can be used in most of the popular email marketing platforms, allowing customers to use an effective new marketing tool that goes beyond the standard templates available. The Printing Solutions team also designs custom websites and digital ads, creating a full online branding option for clients.
Blanton says the company has extended its development of online marketing products, and will be announcing a variety of web-based packages in the near future.
