School kids and teachers have Horace Mann, a famous education reformer, to thank for creating the summer vacation. Before the summer break existed, the curriculum went through the year non-stop. Mann was concerned over the adverse effects of overworking children at school. In the 1840s, he created a long break lasting from June to September, coinciding with the country’s summer season.

Since then, everyone always looks forward to the summer vacation, as it is that time of the year when there is a lot of fun stuff to do. Many people enjoy the great outdoors during this time, traveling to the mountains or beaches. Others send their children to summer camps to have fun while learning. In some instances, people prefer being couch potatoes and spend summer at home.

It does not hurt to take a well-deserved rest once in a while. Work and school always leave kids and adults stressed out five days a week, respectively. To make matters difficult, the routine repeats itself for the entire year, which can be exasperating. Planning your perfect summer vacation then is a great way to forget about stress and enjoy the better side of life.

In Denver summer events can be enjoyed without leaving the city—a trend growing in popularity among families. Cities like Denver also have activities such as rock climbing, boating and nature trekking just like the great outdoors. In Denver summer events are always a blast.

Remember that you only have at least two months to spend your summer vacation fruitfully. Do not waste it by just staying at home, being a couch potato and ordering fast food. In Denver summer events are open to people of all ages and races. When you return to your routinary life at the end of summer, you will be grateful that you spent your vacation in the liveliest and most enjoyable manner possible.
